Physical Description
Ludwig is your typical tall, blond, blue eyed German man. If Ludwig ever had to talk about his wardrobe, he would be embarrassed to say that it is very small. And not very clean looking. His usual black or blue jeans are always grease and oil stained, sometimes with small fraying tears and tucked neatly into his trusty old military winter boots that stop right under his knees; Not only do they keep out snow, but they keep sand from sinking in through the folds. When he doesn’t have to dress up for a special occasion, Ludwig wears a long sleeved shirt made of unusual stretchy black material that clings to him like a second skin on which his most well-known coat, black leather with the softest of white fur on the inside, is tossed over it if he leaves the sanctuary of his metal workshops. Everyone that knows the man has never seen him shirtless, let alone his back uncovered.

When he goes out, only when he absolutely has to, he carries a gun belt, with his two favorite handguns, and a dagger belt, decorated with handmade knives and lavishly designed twin daggers made of black steel unusual to the local desert area. Due to the blaring sun, he wears a pair of blue tinted sunglasses that wrap around his head, leaving no cracks for sneaky sunlight, and commonly forgetting them on top of his head while he works.

As an added something to his otherwise bland appearance, Ludwig has many of his own creations he wears; Many plain silver earrings shimmer along the rims of his ears, and thick, intricately carved rings line his hands, and tucked lovingly around his neck is a thin, carved cross with a smaller black cross in the bottom and an eagle in the middle. They may look like accessories, but they have come to be handy in Ludwig’s day to day survival.

Hidden within his clothes are broad shoulders and a muscular build. With the need to pound away for hours on metal pieces transforming into beautiful works of art, whether air ship parts or fine jewelry, or his vigilante career at night, Ludwig has kept himself in great condition. After training with a mercenary Brotherhood in the Far East and a traveling circus in Europe and the Americas, Ludwig has an itinerary of martial art tricks and maneuvers.

Ludwig’s mercenary lifestyle keeps him in the shadows at night, so his black attire works perfectly. He adds a faded, thin scarf around the lower portion of his face and an old fedora to hide his identity.

He feels he needs to buy new clothes soon. Or at least some shoe polish.

Personality
Ludwig doesn’t talk. Ever. It’s not that he’s shy, though he is, or the fact that he doesn’t have a particular liking of people, though he does, but the fact that his voice box has been injured many years previous. Don’t get him wrong, he can talk, hoarsely like a slow breeze between cracks and holes whistling, he just doesn’t like to. He enjoys the quiet life he lives now, no longer in the spot light of the circus or the gossip and news about the terrors of the Brotherhood.

Ludwig has also noted his travels with several colourful tattoos along his arms and chest; his favorites being a bright, beautiful koi along his left arm and a black, two headed eagle along his chest.

Even though he takes pleasure in the quiet, peaceful life, he still can’t get that nagging itch to get into a fight, thus taking up the vigilante persona known as the Silence, or so the people often whisper. He doesn’t care about what the people call him or what they have to say about his actions, but he does know one thing: this fighting for good in the dead of night without taking credit for it is his redemption. He’s a better person now, only killing those who do wrong onto others.

Even without his use of voice, he is stubborn as can be. People think they can get away with pushing him over, but they learn quick that shear power and brute will power is what rules Ludwig, and when determined, nothing stops him; Except the laws of physics.

However, Ludwig has one small problem that even his determination hasn’t been able to conquer: He’s bad at other languages. He can survive easily with what words he knows, but he couldn’t for the life of him read a novel let alone a newspaper in another language, word for word. So underneath his workbench is a small shelf of the local dialects of Aldmoor in which he translates into German. English, so far, seems to be the easiest language that comes to him.

Ludwig is calm, stoic, and ever so polite, even without his voice. He opens doors for people, reaches for things on higher shelves for shorter people, gives without expecting something in return, plays games with the local children and elderly, and in his free time he makes toys for the smaller children around the desert’s cooler season. He’s constantly doing something near his garage; usually leaving the large rolling doors open during the day if something or someone wishes to blow in with the wind.

His only constant companion is Blackie, a highly intelligent, reconnaissance ferret, whom always gets into trouble.

History
Ludwig had a good childhood with a hardworking father, a loving mother, and a role model of an older brother. They had a warm meal every night and a comfortable bed to sleep in. Life was good as a child, neither rich nor poor.

Things turned worse as he and his brother danced through adolescence. After his brother was attacked and left, the family began to crumble. A year later, he too left the no-longer a family, taking his signature coat, and began his travels to find his new path to life and hopefully his brother. While in a small town in France, he joined a circus and became an acrobat in the show, keeping a watchful eye on the crowd for his brother. He loved the people in the circus as if they were family and in turn, they loved him.

Years passed, and with no sign of his brother while traveling the globe, he remained with the circus. Unfortunately, after preforming in a small town near the border of China and Russia, they were attacked by a group of wandering mercenaries hungry and searching for spare loot. He and a few of the other acrobats put up one hell of a fight, but were outnumbered. Before he was knocked unconscious in the back of the head, he heard the screams of the other members.

He awoke with foggy thoughts and even foggier memories. Not remembering his name or where he was or what he was doing, he asked the handful of survivors, but they could only tell him his name, Ludwig, but before he could learn more, their captors, the mercenaries known as the Brotherhood, decided to keep and train them. So day in and day out in the bitter cold of Northern China and Southern Russia, the handful of them trained until they died. Ludwig watched the other captives die in the horrid conditions, and he too almost died in the nasty winters, but his silent devotion to a deep longing of finding someone kept him going. He learned from the last dying survivor that he was German and that he was searching the world for his long lost brother, although the man did not know his name or what he looked like.

So Ludwig pushed on. After watching the horrors of what the Brotherhood did, he rebelled. Refusing to cause such mayhem and suffering onto the towns and people they came across. The Brotherhood did not take this lightly, and so, they whipped his back to remove their tattoo insignia every member has and if he survived, then he was strong enough in their eyes to live, but if he died, then he died justly. They whipped him and whipped him until every inch of ink was no longer visible, and to ensure their secrets, crushed his larynx and left him in the cold to freeze.

The cold clotted the deep gashes across his back and luck was on his side, as a small tribe of wandering nomads found and nursed him back to health. While healing, he gained the loving bond of a newly born ferret specific to the region of mountainous cold, naming him Blackie like his pelt. He stayed with them, repairing air ships and learning their techniques for metal shaping weapons and trinkets until the urge to travel grew too great. After finishing his two black daggers, almost short swords, he gathered what little he had and headed west.

Ludwig ended up in Aldmoor, where he opened a metal workshop, producing hard to get, but highly needed parts for airships and fancy metal goods. He produces more than enough money, but he lives day to day trying to find himself and what his life’s mission is, while working to obtain his redemption for the cruelties he is responsible for in the Brotherhood.

Currently, he has a majestic project in one of the back workshops used for personal creations that he hopes to complete soon as a gift to the local community, which he keeps shrouded in secrecy from everyone.

Important Information

• Enjoys the feel of cool water down his scarred back as the skin is thinner there, so it tends to be warmer than the rest of him, especially with all the clothes he wears over his back.
• Is a heavy chain smoker. He can’t help it and he doesn’t even consider stopping. Just like he is a heavy drinker, but only after work.
• He’s very good at parkour, but he only shows off his skills in the dead of night. Ludwig prefers his two blades in a battle, but he does carry two handguns just in case and many throwing knives for the long distant targets.
• He’s trained Blackie to steal and gather information on people such as bank books, transfer receipts, papers, and other small goods. Blackie can cause the right amount of distraction Ludwig needs to get away with something.
• Not very good at other languages, but he’s trying hard, yet he still refuses to use his voice.
• Lost most of his memories from when he’s young, but every so often he gets just a tidbit back on things that are whimsical.

Likes

• His smokes. At least three packs a day, no less than two.
• Alcohol, but only after work.
• He likes a bit of hard candy every so often or fresh fruit as a treat he shares with Blackie.
• Giving; He believes this is his way of redeeming himself to the dead.
• Ludwig loves music and carnivals, although he hardly attends them, he does leave his window in the garage open to listen to the music floating in.

Dislikes

• The Brotherhood.
• Being out of smokes and alcohol.
• Absolute quiet. He likes quiet with white noise in the background, thus is why he created a short wave radio in which he searches for sounds.
• People who think they can get away with murder without reparation.
• Not remembering who he is or what his purpose is.

It was one of those awkward days where Ludwig had to leave the safety and shelter of his garage to venture out into the town to gather supplies. Even in the baring heat, he refused to shuck off his jacket and miserable black shirt, instead tugging at the open collar. He wandered by the shops, on covered eye glancing in the windows while the other kept guard for a possible threat. Stopping he squinted at a particular shirt in the window case. A deep red silk piece, not really his usual thing, but maybe he needed to liven up his wardrobe some. He passed it anyway, promising himself that he would indeed find something nice later. Much later.

Dropping a coin into the hand of the local paperboy, he flipped the paper over to the front page and read the headline. Two men have case into alley due to the Silence. Ludwig scratched the back of his head. That wasn’t right. Two men have event into alley due to the Silence. No, not that either. Two men have halyard into alley due to the Silence.

Ludwig huffed in irritation that his books of local dialect were back in the workshop. He rolled the paper up into a tube and shoved it into one of his pockets in his pants, leaving his hand on the scabbard of his blade.

F-A-L-L. What the hell did that mean?

He trudged into the General Store and handed the man behind the counter his supply list, triple checked for accuracy. The man already knew that Ludwig would mean a pound of lunch meat rather than 100 pounds of it, but Ludwig liked to make sure he was improving.

While the man moved around the back gathering what Ludwig needed, Ludwig pulled out the newspaper again and looked at the photo. There on the ground laid two broken heaps that were once men and the camera looking up towards the roof. Dead. Roof. Crumpled. Gravity. Heaps. Pushed.

Ludwig snapped his fingers proudly against the paper. Fall! Two men have fallen into alley due to the Silence. He would have congratulated himself with a pat on the back if he could. Gathering the supplies he needed from here, he paid the man and headed to the bakery. His spirits were a little lighter about today after his success.

Now all he needed to figure out is what the fuck Silence meant anyway.

If there is a way to get the chat box thingy on my phone could someone tell me? Or do we even use the thing much? Oh and I'm also not one for the traditional pairings that most people have for APH characters.

Fsgjhdshjb! I love it when people get this creative with in depth histories and whatnot. You are accepted, of course! Feel free to change your name to that of your characters and post an intro/jump into roleplaying

(Just make sure you read the rules again.)

As for the image issue: Just add it in once the 7 days are up. No big deal.
As for the cbox: I can normally open forummotion chatboxes on my phone just by logging on the forum and joining the chat, but it is not used much as of right now.

Yeehaw! I re-read everyone's post like seven times just to make sure everything would line up right. Been dying to try this mostly mute/language bound badass Ludwig for forever!

(I had a gif at the end about dinosaurs and 'inevitable betrayals,' but techo-tardation bit me in the ass with the images. I do have one question: It wasn't explained enough for me to understand I guess, but I cuss some in writing. I understand that this forum is 13+, so do I need to be more careful? Don't want to bother the youngins.)

You're good then, love.

You are fine unless it is gratuitous cursing in every other line. The child-friendly warning is more meant to warn people to avoid sex and excessive violence.
